School Hours of Operation

Monday to Friday: 8:30 am – 7:00 pm
Saturday and Sunday: 8:30 am – 5:30 pm

Scheduling of Lessons

Students are required to study for a minimum of 8 hours per week. Lessons are typically 2 hours long. In exceptional cases, students may need to study up to 12 hours per week.

To meet the Ministry of Education and Immigration requirements in Thailand, our programs must meet a minimum number of study hours. This may occasionally result in irregular schedules, which we strive to keep to a minimum.

Terms and Conditions of Visa Support

Effective Thai complies fully with Thailand’s immigration laws. If your Non-Immigrant Education Visa has expired, we cannot continue offering lessons related to that visa. All coursework must be completed before your visa expires.

We will not sponsor a new Education Visa unless all courses under previous visas have been completed.

If a student’s lack of attendance or behavior threatens the legality of their visa, we reserve the right to withdraw visa support.

Visa Support

  • We provide all documents required to obtain a 3-month non-immigrant ED visa and its extension to 6 months.
  • Note: The visa extension fee of 1,900 THB must be paid to Thai immigration.
  • Our staff can accompany you to Immigration if needed.
  • A 50% deposit is required to reserve a seat and begin visa paperwork.
  • The remaining balance is due before the first class.

Instructions for Non-Immigrant ED Visa Applications

  1. Inform us of the Thai embassy or consulate where you plan to apply. We may suggest an alternative if your choice is known to cause issues.
  2. Once agreed, we’ll confirm the requirements specific to that embassy or consulate.
  3. Complete the personal info form provided. Include a recent (within 6 months) passport-sized photo and a copy of your passport’s detail page.
  4. Allow at least 4 weeks for the Ministry of Education to process your support letter.
  5. Once ready, you may choose to collect documents from our school or have them sent by courier (fee added to your balance).
  6. Please inform us by email once you receive your visa.

Personal Responsibilities of Non-Immigrant Visa / Work Permit Holders

You are responsible for tracking your visa/work permit expiry dates and your 90-day reporting schedule. Please contact us at least 1 month in advance for any visa or work permit paperwork needs.

You are responsible for:

  • Giving 1 month’s notice before your visa or work permit expires
  • 90-day reporting
  • Re-entry permits (if leaving Thailand)
  • Your departure card (attached to your passport upon entry)
  • Ensuring your passport is valid for at least 6 months for renewals
  • Reporting any change in name, passport number, or passport replacement immediately

Once you’ve received a new visa extension, work permit, or re-entered Thailand, please visit our office so we can update and copy your documents. The Ministries of Immigration, Labor, and Education regularly audit us, and we must maintain accurate, up-to-date records.

Note: EFL is not responsible for any fines due to visa overstay, expired work permits, missing 90-day reports, or other personal documentation issues. All fines are the responsibility of the student or teacher.
